From March 8th to March 10th, 2022 , Professor Zhao Lindu’s group, which came from the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University, carried out couplet-assistance in e-Commerce Logistics industry in Nanhua county, aiming to strengthen the poverty alleviation to a higher level and apply the school’s intellectual resources forwardly.
Accompanied by related personnel of the county’s Ministry of Industry and Information on Business Technology, Administration for Rural Revitalization and Qu Xu, the vice mayor of the people’s government of Nanhua county, Professor Zhao and his group deeply investigated certain corporations, including Electronic Commerce(EC) Service Centers both in the town level and in the Persimmon Tree Community of Longchuan town, the Tenglong logistics company, the logistics distribution center and Miyilu Natural Foods Holdings Limited Company of Nanhua county. By gaining detailed information about the status of production, management and sales, along with the operating state of EC services centers and commerce logistics, Professor Zhao mustered the basic knowledge on how to carry out couplet-assistance among the local area.
On the morning of March 10th, Professor Zhao held a specific lecture on the co-development of electric commerce and commerce logistics in the official business center in Nanhua County. More than 120 people from the county’s related departments attended this training program in the main venue, while core members, secretaries and directors from other 10 towns joined the meeting via their local parallel sessions.
The lecture, named “Electric Commerce and Commerce Logistics on Fresh Foods”, provided explicit training on three aspects: the new trend of the fresh food mode, advice on the development of electric commerce and e-commerce logistics, and where our future exploration may lead us. Based on the result of investigations and the local situation, four suggestions are also given for further growth in related industries:
1.Form a good reputation on local industry. The county shall aim to make their unique output (in Nanhua’s case, wild and edible fungi) to gain a better performance, support relative rural areas to develop their own distinguished production line, enhance co-operation between workers, have more training programs and promote the poor to earn more.
2.Good quality and reasonable prices. The officials shall ensure all goods are green, organic and harmless (walnuts, carrots, etc.). They shall also attach great importance on the quality certification of agricultural products, promote the standardization of related process and divide the sales system into grades. Zhao emphasized that even a small farm could have its part in the enormous market through our improvement such as optimizing the way productions are organized. We can pay more attention to the agricultural chain, use the production chain to drive up the supply chain, then drive up the e-commerce and logistics industry.
3.Improve the quality and efficiency. By composing all the EC resources among the rural areas, using their separate advantages to cooperate instead of competing against each other, focusing on constructing service center in villages and programming an APP for them, we can succeed in composing an EC network between county, village and farmers.
4.New innovation mode. Management cost may be reduced by the rural areas’ help if we explore the possible ways of crowd-sourcing among county-sized logistics. An online network of goods transport can also optimize the logistic resources in the county. While paying attention to the construction of logistic public information platform, we may divide it into different parts according to seasonal products.
As general secretary Xi Jinping points out, “Poverty alleviation is never the final step, but merely the threshold of a brand-new living”, the School of Economics and Management will continue to carry out investigation in Nanhua county in the future, issue more news about the outcome of our think tank and improve the advice standard of the new think tank. As we promote ourselves to a higher level, we will be able to provide better intellectual support to further implementing the rural revitalization strategy in Nanhua county.
