On August 18, the 2022 "Digital Economy and Management Education" Strategic Seminar of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University was successfully held in Cuipingshan Hotel. Qin Xia, Minister of the Academic Affairs Department of the Party Committee of Southeast University and Director of the Student Office, as well as party leaders of the school and representatives of faculty and staff attended the seminar. The meeting was chaired by Yuan Jianhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school.
Vice Dean Pu Zhengning reported on the cultivation of undergraduates. Combined with the actual situation, he pointed out the new challenges faced by undergraduate enrollment and training from the aspects of changes in the number of undergraduate students in the school, the tendencies of students’ major selection, the enrollment of 2022 undergraduates, and the recognition of students. He put forward corresponding thoughts and suggestions.
From the current situation and problems of postgraduate training in the school, Vice Dean Xue Weili thought about how to improve the quality of postgraduate training and put forward suggestions to improve the quality of enrolled students, standardize the training process, strengthen the international perspective, and improve the incentive system.
Deputy Secretary He Yi made a keynote speech on "Four Dimensions of Precise Efforts to do a Good Job in Psychological Education". He proposed four aspects to strengthen psychological education, including grasping psychological education from a political height, expanding the psychological education work in breadth, strengthening it from the depth of integration, and fulfilling it in consideration of caring.
Qin Xia, Minister of the Academic Affairs Department of the Party Committee and Director of the Student Office, congratulated the School of Economics and Management on holding the strategic seminar as scheduled, and pointed out that the development strategy seminar is an important opportunity for everyone to exchange ideas and discuss problems. She expressed the hope that through this seminar, everyone could reach a consensus and make concerted efforts to promote the continuous progress of the School of Economics and Management. At the same time, Ms. Qin Xia affirmed the efforts of the School to vigorously support the student work. She hoped that the School of Economics and Management would pay more attention to student training in the future and provide more outstanding talents to society.
Vice Dean Lv Hongjiang analyzed the development status of the MBA/EMBA of the school, and put forward the MBA/EMBA's 14th Five-Year Strategic Plan from the aspects of mission and strategy, innovation and characteristics, training quality, organization and administration, resources and allocation, various platforms and social contributions.
Vice Dean Zhang Yulin summarized the scientific research work of the school in the past two years. He reported the scientific research situation in 2021 and the scientific research projects and awards application in 2022, then put forward suggestions on how to promote the scientific research work of the school.
Secretary Yuan Jianhong led the participants to study the Study Outline of Xi Jinping's Economic Thought, introduced the significance and main content of it, and shared the experience and inspiration of the study. She pointed out that it is necessary to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's economic thought, seize the opportunity of the digital economy era, build a first-class school, and promote the development of Economic Management education from six aspects: talent training, discipline construction, scientific research, team building, cultural transformation, and open school running.
Li Yuan, Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University, made an online special report, introducing the current situation of his academy from the aspects of discipline construction, professional degrees, discipline evaluation, faculty, and international certification. He reviewed the 13th Five-Year Plan from the aspects of teaching achievements, discipline construction, faculty structure, and scientific research level, and shared the guiding ideology, main tasks and specific measures of the 14th Five-Year Plan of his academy. Other teachers at the scene also exchanged their questions with Dean Li Yuan. Everyone was deeply inspired and learned a lot.
In the afternoon, the participating teachers held an academic discussion on the theme of "Digital Economy and Management", which was chaired by Vice Dean Zhang Yulin.
Professor Liu Xiuyan introduced the overview and impact of the development of the digital economy, and analyzed the strategic significance of China's development of the digital economy, as well as the opportunities and challenges it faces. Wang Wenping, Zhou Qin, Ding Yi, Zhou Lulu and Chen Zhibin discussed the basic theoretical frontiers of digital economy and management from data science, encryption economics and data economics, supply chain management in the digital economy, human resource management research and accounting in the digital economy.
Professor Liu Xiaoxing shared the necessity of interdisciplinary research, and introduced its main sources. She shared the key points and application experience of applying for interdisciplinary R&D plans. Professor Shao Jun introduced domestic and foreign research institutions related to the digital economy, including UNCTAD, the Stanford Digital Economy Laboratory, international consulting companies, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the Digital Enterprise Research Institute, etc.He emphasized that the concept of digital economy was abstract and vague, so a strict research framework should not be set, and we should encourage exploratory research and cross-cutting research.Professor Yue Shujing put forward his thoughts and suggestions on the innovation of the mechanism of the cross-academic research institute. He proposed that the cross-academic research institute should emancipate the mind, innovate boldly, break down the barriers of departments, break down the shortcomings of the scientific and technological system, mobilize the power of innovative talents, stimulate the vitality of innovative subjects, and unite all parties to develop towards marketization, flexibility, autonomy, and diversification.Professor Hu Hanhui introduced the development history of Kunshan Industrial Innovation Cluster, and pointed out that Industrial Innovation Cluster is an exploration of the integration of technological innovation and management innovation in the digital economy era. He acclaimed that a practical teaching base with characteristics of SEU and facing the whole country should be established in the future.
At the end of the Development Seminar of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University in 2022, Secretary Yuan Jianhong gave a summary. The participants learned from each other and collided with each other on their viewpoints, and gained a lot. The meeting achieved the expected results.
