From May 28 to 29, 2022, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the school, Southeast University and the University of Birmingham held the 2022 International "Carbon Neutral" University Academic Conference in a combination of online and offline channels to discuss the strategy to global green development under the context of the new era.
Among them, the third sub-forum "Carbon Neutral Policy and Law" was held on the afternoon of May 29 at the Shang Qinhuai International Cultural Exchange Center. This sub-forum was co-organized by the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University and the School of Law of Southeast University.Yuan Jianhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management, and Professor Ouyang Benqi, Dean of the School of Law, co-chaired the event.
Many scholars attended the conference and gave reports, including Professor Jiang Zhihong, Vice President of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Professor Xunpeng Shi, President of University of Technology Sydney and International Energy Transition Society, Dr. Peer Michaelis, Director of Law and Governance Department of German Research Center for Nature Conservation and Energy Transition, Professor Wang Canfa from China University of Political Science and Law, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences Professor Tadashi Otsuka from Waseda University, Chairman of Japan Environmental Law and Policy Society, and President of Japan Environmental Information Science Center, and Professor Qin Tianbao from Wuhan University, Vice President and Secretary General of China Law Society Environmental Resource Law Research Association.
As a major event of "Academic Celebration", this sub-forum was the first international academic conference based on the "Carbon Neutral World University Alliance". It aimed to create a strong academic atmosphere, build an international academic exchange platform in the field of carbon neutrality, and present a gift to the 120th anniversary of Southeast University.The School of Economics and Management has always been facing the frontiers of science and technology in the world, the main economic battlefield, the major demand of the country, and the life and health of people. It constantly improves its scientific research and innovation capabilities.In the future, it will pay more attention to innovation-driven, adhere to the orientation of "big team, big platform, big project, big achievement", give full play to the advantages of disciplines, stimulate the vitality of scientific research, and make joint efforts and actions for the cause of "carbon neutrality".
