On the afternoon of May 11th, 2022, the academic activities for celebrating the 120th anniversary of SEU, which were hosted by the School of Economics and Development and organized by the research station of the Department of Business Administration, Management Philosophy, and Methodology, were successfully held. Professor Qi Yudong, the head of BNU Business School, was invited to give an academic lecture about “Enterprise Management Innovation in the Digital Economic Age”. This lecture was commented by Li Dong, the head of the Business Administration Department of the School of Economics and Management and leader of Business Administration subjects, and hosted by Prof. Du Yunzhou, with more than 500 teachers and students attending the report session via online meeting and discussing with passion.
In this lecture, Prof. Qi Yudong made a deep analysis of the digital economy on its operating characteristics and developing trends, the enterprise management innovation in the digital economic age, and the innovation orientation for digital industries in the post-Moore times. He indicated that the digital economy provides a strong economic base ground for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and Industry 4.0, which takes the digital economy as its core nature, shall have great economic effects in the world's biggest change in a century.
As to the where-to-go question about enterprise innovation in the digital economic age, Prof. Qi Yudong gave an elaborated analysis on strategic transformation, company goals, property rights model, and governance, pointing out that digital transformation and intelligential upgrade had become the only choice for traditional enterprises in digital age. User-value-oriented and alternative competition, being two basic forces of driving enterprise management revolution, not only push forward the change of company goals and the innovation of governance structure but also lead to a series of changes in inner-enterprise management modes. Finally, Prof. Qi Yudong concluded that in this world's biggest change in a century, we shall passionately embrace the digital economic age, and this would be the most powerful economic base ground for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Prof. Qi Yudong’s lecture was highly related to the most recent news in the world and the trend of China’s development, with a far gaze and clear explanation. He made deep conversations with teachers and students attending the lecture on the management problems in the digital economic age and brought insight to many people. The lecture made everyone more confident about the bright future of the digital economy and created ideas and new directions for related scholars.
