In order to study and implement the call and work requirements of the Party Central Committee on the promotion of investigation and research in the whole party, further promote the investigation and research work to go deeper and deepen the use of research results to make things happen, after the leadership team of the School went to Beijing's top universities to carry out research, Professor Yuan Jianhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management, led the leadership team of the School went to the School of Economics of Fudan University, School of Economics and Management of Tongji University, Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University to carry out research again from May 15th to 16th. Vice Dean Zhang Yulin and Pu Zhengning, Assistant Dean Liu Xiuyan and Ding Yi, Office Director Wang Fengfeng, Shen Ting from EMBA Center, and Zhou Yue from MBA Center participated in this research.
Conducting strategic research on the overall situation is an important part of the School's work, which is the basis of planning and success in promoting the high-quality and deep development of the School of Economics and Management and continuously improving the quality of independent training of talents. After consolidating the results of the previous research in Beijing, the School again deployed a trip to Shanghai sister universities to further strengthen the high-quality development of the School and learn the advanced concepts and excellent experiences of first-class universities in high-level talent training, faculty construction, cross-disciplinary construction, high-level international cooperation and high-quality development of MBA/EMBA programs. Secretary Yuan Jianhong stressed the requirement to help improve scientific decision-making, crack the bottleneck of reform and development, and promote the high-quality development of the School of Economics and Management with the practical results of investigations and problem solving.
In the morning of 15th, the leadership team of the School arrived at the School of Economics of Fudan University and had an in-depth communication with Li Yuejiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics, Kou Zonglai, Vice Dean of the School, Zhan Lu, Director of the Office, and Hu Xinyue, Director of the Education Development Center around the research topics. Secretary Li Yuejiang introduced in detail the basic situation and innovative features of the School of Economics in terms of discipline construction, enrollment, cultivation, and degree. Vice Dean Kou Zonglai focused on the experience and measures of the School of Economics in faculty construction, scientific research, and talent cultivation. Director Hu Xinyue introduced the development of existing international cooperation projects. Director Zhan Lu shared the work experience of the labor union and School office.
At the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University, Prof. Xie En, the presiding Vice Dean, introduced in detail the development of the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University in terms of its history, discipline settings and professional characteristics, faculty construction, talent training, discipline and platform construction, and international cooperation development. Deputy Party Secretary Ruan Qingsong and Vice Dean Wang Hongwei introduced their experiences in talent training and teaching evaluation, discipline characteristics advantages enhancement, and research team construction respectively, and had in-depth discussions and exchanges with the research team on discipline construction and development, cross-disciplinary mechanism and national high-end think tank construction. Huang Xiaofang, Deputy Director of the Professional Degree Center, and Luo Shiyun, Deputy Director of the EMBA Center, made a relevant introduction on MBA/EMBA teaching management system and cultivation, etc. After the meeting, accompanied by the leaders of the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University and Li Juewei, Deputy Director of the Office of the School, the research group visited the construction of teaching hardware and software facilities such as intelligent classrooms, seminar rooms, activity exchange rooms and cultural walls of the School.
At Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Party Secretary Jiang Wenning introduced the College’s development strategy of vertical and horizontal, knowledge and action, the vision and mission of building a world-class business school rooted in China, as well as the initiatives and working experience of the College in terms of organizational structure, academic platform, College and departmental party branches, laboratory construction, international influence building, and social responsibility taking. Assistant Dean Cai Fengyan and Director of Discipline Construction and Scientific Research Office Wu Shiming discussed with the research team from the aspects of talent cultivation, scientific research and platform construction, and student training in the College. Director of MBA Center Wang Xiaowei and Director of EMBA Center Ma Wenyu made a detailed introduction on the high-quality development of MBA/EMBA and international project cooperation.
Through this trip to Shanghai universities for in-depth research and study, our school not only consolidated the cooperation and friendship with the sister Schools, but also shared and discussed respective experiences and understanding in scientific research, talent training, and management discipline development.
By comprehending Beijing and Shanghai’s two research results, the research team combined with the actual work of the School, learning ideas, focusing on implementation. The next step will also be through the collection of typical issues, seminars, and other ways to promote the establishment of the list of research results into use, further condense and consolidate the results of research, and inject new vitality into the comprehensive promotion the School's high-quality development.
